Chinese Green Beans

Description:
This is a quick and easy way to make green beans.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 1 clove garlic (or more), slightly crushed
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp MSG (optional)
Directions:
  1. heat oil in skillet over high heat
  2. brown garlic and remove (or leave in if you like it)
  3. add beans, stirring quickly until they turn bright green
  4. add water, cover, reduce to medium
  5. cook 2-3 minutes or until just tender but not soft
  6. serve immediately
variations: add thinly sliced mushrooms, water chestnut, almonds, soy sauce, or whatever you like after adding the beans
