Tagged:  •
Description:
This is a quick, easy, and unusual way to cook broccoli. Makes a great side dish to almost any meal!
Ingredients:
  • 8-10 cloves of garlic
  • 1 head broccoli vegetable oil (I use canola)
  • 1/3 tsp turmeric
Directions:
  1. Separate broccoli into long spears, stem included, and peel stems below floret
  2. Do this carefully since the stems tend to break easily.
  3. Peel garlic cloves, but don't chop them.
  4. Heat oil in large skillet or griddle.
  5. It should be large enough to place all the broccoli in one layer.
  6. Cook the garlic in the oil until golden.
  7. Add broccoli and turmeric, and cook till broccoli is browned.
  8. Turn spears over using tongs or a spatula and cook, covered, until just tender but not too soft. Delicious!
Equipment:
A griddle or large saute pan with lid
Preparation Time:
half hour or less
Serves:
4 or more, depending how much you like broccoli
